The phrase ‘dogs are man’s best friend’ automatically becomes much truer when you finally get to pet one of your own. Generally, all dogs are naturally playful, making mundane activities more fun. They bring the family closer on a game’s night and are the best four-legged partners on evening walks.

There will be nothing much like a goofy Labrador who will manage to brighten up your gloomy day. Even though all canines become playful when they have a human play partner, some breeds are more playful than others. In this article, you will learn about some of the playful breeds that you can buy or adopt.

The Playful Breeds List

When you bring a dog home, they tend to engage in playful activities, especially when they are bought as puppies. Below is the list of dogs that are alphabetically placed instead of their playfulness.

You must know that owning a pet can be a life-altering experience. It means that they are a huge part of your responsibility. It is why you should get pet insurance from a reliable company like Lemonade, as soon as you get them home. With pet insurance coverage, you will get help covering the costs of various procedures, diagnostics and medications in case of an accident or illness.

Alaskan Malamute

The Alaskan Malamutes were one of the first sled dogs of the Arctic in history, those that were known to drag slides across snow and ice. Since they worked in packs, they have an instinct to look out for company and play games as their energy allows them to. They are also playfully ideal for cold outdoor climates.

Belgian Malinois

Being a breed of the herding group and most playful with their owners, the Belgian Malinois retain a playful nature like that of a puppy because of their treatment. They are quite clever and love to be occupied meaning that they are always happy and hopping around the household.

Boxer

Even though the working group of dogs from Sweden is less playful the boxer is an exception. They are preferred because of their enthusiasm in games and clowning around.

Even if they are senior cannons they have the characteristic of silly pooches. Because of their senior nature, they are susceptible to hip displacement.

Cocker Spaniel

Belonging from the highly spirited sporting group, Spaniels are of two types- the playful American Cocker Spaniel and the English Cocker Spaniel, resembling their working group ancestors. Irrespective of their small size they are packed with immense energy (so they could be fun to train) that makes them most suitable for the household. They become more playful with daily training and exercise.

Corgi

Corgis belong to the herding breed of dogs that are packed with playfulness and energy. They are small in size and have the most playful grin which makes them more adorable.

They are the most preferable dogs when you have kids at home. Their cuteness will make you want to turn them into digital artworks just like any other cute canine.

English Springer Spaniel

Originally recognized as hunting breeds, English springer spaniels are exceptionally Swift playful, and quick learners. Their extraordinary energy makes them most suitable for your active lifestyle. They are also suited for the outdoors but they require a lot of commitment and attention.

German Shorthaired Pointer

Belonging from the sporting group, German Shorthaired Pointers are hunting dogs weighing almost 40 to 60lbs.

With vigorous daily activities, they become more careful and energetic than they are. They are not just popular for their loving spirit but are also low maintenance with a high prey drive, making them the most suitable household dogs.

Golden Retriever

The dog breed that does not require an introduction, golden retrievers were originally sporting dogs. Given their popularity of being loyal and lovely family pets, they have the most playful nature even as adults. They remain so throughout their life making them the most preferable house dog. But you must remember to get them tested as puppies because they suffer a high rate of elbow and hip displacement.

Labrador Retriever

The most popular American dog, the Labrador Retriever is an amazingly playful breed because of its people-centric and enthusiastic nature. They are popular for providing companionship and their playfulness will make you adopt one right away. They are also mostly compatible with other sporting breeds such as golden retrievers and German Shorthaired Pointers.
