We all love our pet dogs and want only what’s best for them, but sometimes things are simply out of our hands. Some dogs just have a bad temper. They won’t be aggressive towards their owners, but they can be aggressive to other people or animals.

Naturally, that’s something all of us want to avoid. Luckily, there’s a solution to this problem – CBD or cannabidiol. However, many people are wondering what the best way to give CBD to dogs that have temper issues is.

It might sound tricky, but every dog owner can do it. Before we get to that, let’s talk about why dog friendly cbd is the right answer to this problem.

Why Dogs Have Temper Issues

Dogs can display aggression in many different ways. Some dogs specifically target other dogs – some don’t like other animal species, while some aren’t that comfortable with unfamiliar humans near them. At the same time, dogs can have different reasons for being aggressive.

Some of the most common types of aggression are due to fear, territorial instincts, protective nature, social reactions, defensive nature, and possessive issues. No matter what’s the cause, you need to recognize signs of aggression to make sure you aren’t treating your dog for something they don’t have:

● Tucking tail and standing in a defensive stance

● Raised fur

● Averting eyes

● Yawing

● Licking lips

● Wagging tail

● Rigid stance

● Snapping and growling

CBD and How it Works

Lots of people think that CBD is actually the same as marijuana, but CBD doesn’t have any THC. It can be derived from marijuana or hemp with really low levels of THC that aren’t intoxicating, even for animals. Still, it’s better to go with CBD made out of hemp because it doesn’t have any THC in it.

CBD comes in many different forms, including edibles, tinctures, vape juice, and oil. The only option that is suitable for dogs is CBD oil. This compound has mechanisms that work on the endocannabinoid system.

This system is in charge of maintaining physical and psychological stability regardless of what’s going on in the outside world. It affects the whole body, and it has receptors that CBD can activate. Through these receptors, CBD can help with many different problems, including inflammation, anxiety, and aggression.

Benefits of CBD for Dogs

CBD has profound effects that help boost serotonin, improve memory, reduce stress, and improve overall mood. All these combined make dogs happier and less prone to aggression. At the same time, some dogs are reactive and aggressive because they are in pain.

CBD has proven benefits in reducing pain, and that can prevent the cause of depression. Some dogs are also aggressive because they are anxious, and CBD is also used for alleviating anxiety symptoms. Many studies have shown the positive effects of CBD for both dogs and humans.

How to Give CBD Oil to Aggressive Dogs

There are a couple of ways you can do this. Depending on your dog, its personality, and your experience, you can choose one of the following options:

Mix CBD Oil With Their Food

When mixing CBD oil with dog food, it’s best to use wet food. Put small doses because dogs often don’t like the taste of CBD oil, and they need time to get used to it.

However, it’s also good to start small to see how CBD affects your dog and its aggression. Simply put a regular meal into their bowl and then put oil over it. You can also do this with porous treats only so that the oil gets soaked into it.

Directly Into The Mouth

Giving your dog CBD oil directly is the fastest way for the effects to kick in. You can do this using a dropper or fill a syringe with CBD and inject the oil in its mouth. To do this, place the dropper or syringe behind the canine tooth at a slight angle.

Move the medicine until you find a gap and then release the oil into the dog’s mouth. Dogs can spit out a bit of the oil with this method, but this doesn’t mean you should give them another dose. Use this method only if your dog isn’t aggressive towards you.

Conclusion

CBD is completely natural and doesn’t have any negative side effects. At the same time, it doesn’t have intoxicating effects like marijuana. It’s good medicine for aggressive dogs, but it can also help them out with many other issues.

Giving CBD to dogs with a temper is a good idea. However, you should work with your dog with its behavioral issues in the long term to get them into a good place mentally so that they don’t need to rely on any medicine.
