  • 10 Ways An Eurasier Changes Your Life

You’re on of the lucky few people to have an Eurasier in your family, and since you brought that fluffy pup home, your life has never been the same.

1. You get a lot more attention when you’re out on walks.

People simply can’t keep their eyes off a fluffy, majestic Eurasier. Don’t be surprised if you catch people staring, or even taking pictures of your dog with their phone. They can’t help it! From that beautiful mane of fluff to that tail, elegantly curled over the dog’s back, a Eurasier is a gorgeous animal you’re proud to walk with.

2. You’re sick of people asking the same questions over and over again.

For some reason, people love to ask if fluffy dogs shed, or what they eat that makes their coat so soft. You’ll definitely have people tell you what they think your dog’s breed is, as though they’re experts. No, you don’t have a Chow Chow, a Keeshond or a Samoyed… and you absolutely don’t have a wolf! Get ready to explain that you have a Eurasier, and then answer the follow-up questions. It’s amazing how many people have never heard of your beautiful breed, but you’re happy to help raise awareness.

3.You’re more relaxed than ever.

The Eurasier is a laid-back breed, and their very presence brings an air of calm into your home. It’s impossible for you to be truly stressed with a big, fluffy bundle of love sitting at your feet. Those soft brown eyes and reassuring smile are all you need to get through your most stressful days.

4. Your kids are never bored.

Eurasiers were bred to be family dogs. They can’t resist romping with kids, or even just laying near them to watch them play. Like all dogs, you should supervise your Eurasier around small children, but you don’t worry much – your dog genuinely loves your family, and seems happiest at the end of the day when everyone is home.

5. You could negotiate with anyone.

While Eurasiers are laid-back, they’re also independent and do not fare well with any kind of punishment. If you want your dog to do something, you have to convince them that it was their idea in the first place. Using games and rewards helps your Eurasier learn and ensures that your bond grows as you spend time together through the years.

6. You’ve never slept better.

Not every Eurasier owner wants to share a bed with a 50-pound ball of fluff, but when you do, it’s well worth the trouble of squeezing them in. That warm coat and the rhythm of their heart lulls you right to sleep. And when the morning comes, you’ll wake up to that big, beautiful smile… it’s worth springing for a bigger mattress!

7. You can always reach down, knowing that big, fluffy head will appear.

A Eurasier is at the perfect height to reach your hand, and they seem to know it. It’s easy for them to get your attention by sidling up to you, and you can’t resist petting that fluffy head. When you’re home, they’ll stay close to you, and watch over you while you cook, wash and do chores.

8. You feel safer.

Though they’re not huge, your dog is large enough to intimidate most would-be intruders. An Eurasier is always on alert, but they’re not yappy, and will generally only bark a few times. They tend to quiet down once they realize there is no threat. It’s good to have them around for that extra peace of mind, even though they’re unlikely to attack someone, as they prefer to avoid confrontation.

9. You’ve become a short-order dog chef.

As far as dogs go, Eurasiers are actually pretty picky, and may refuse to eat the same kibble every day. Fresh foods tempt that picky palate and add nutrition to dry kibbles. You’ll have to change up those extra treats regularly to get your dog’s attention. They’re not like Labs; they won’t scarf down just anything.

10. You never want another breed of dog.

You may have experience with a few different breeds, but your Eurasier will stand out to you in a way that makes them unforgettable.

My dream dog was my beautiful Husky and I never thought I could love another dog so deeply, but I was wrong. My Eurasier Indi (Indiana) is the sweetest natured dog and her personality is just like my Husky. A delight to share my life with this fabulous dog, they are an awesome breed and up there with Huskies, very loving and loyal.

Hi there – I am contemplating getting a Eurasier. I was wondering, are they a cuddly breed? Do they like being pet? Will they snuggle up to you on the couch?
