10 Reasons To Fall In Love With A #Labradoodle

Half Labrador Retriever, Half Poodle, a Labradoodle is 100% adorable. These curly coated dogs are quick to win your heart. Here’s 10 reasons why you should let that happen:

1. Everyone Needs A Little Help Sometimes

Did you know that Labradoodles were originally crossbred in Australia to serve as service dogs? They’re excellent for helping  for people with disabilities who are allergic to Labrador Retrievers.

Your Doodle will be happy to learn tasks to help you around the house. They can help you loud and unload laundry, though they’ll never be good at folding! They can also retrieve the TV remote, grab you a drink from the fridge, and put trash in the bin. You’ll have to break complicated tasks into simple steps, and use lots of treats to reward your hard worker. They’ll love to help if you make every task a game!

2. You Need An Excuse To Enjoy Nature More Often

How often do you take a day to explore your regions hiking trails, beaches, parks and other natural scenery? When you have an active pup, you’ll start to find more creative ways to explore the world around you. Your Doodle will be easily entertained by piles of autumn leaves, interesting trees and every bug and rock they see. It’s the perfect reminder to take time to smell the roses. For some people, walking a dog is like meditating, and a great escape from the burden of everyday stress.

3. Watching Netflix Alone Isn’t Fun Anymore

Labradoodles make great Netflix watching buddies. Some are smart enough to watch characters moving across the screen, and get excited when they see and hear other animals. Others are just happen to keep your feet warm while you binge-watch your favorite series. Might as well make some popcorn while you’re at it – your Doodle will love to catch fluffy popped corn in midair!

4. Meeting New People Without A Labradoodle Is Totally Awkward

Whether you’re on the market for a new boyfriend or girlfriend, or want to meet new friends, an adorable Labradoodle is the perfect icebreaker. Take your pup out for a stroll in the park, at the dog beach, or downtown – they’re sure to make people stop, stare and smile. Socializing your pup and getting exercise are perfect excuses for getting out of the house and starting conversations.

5. Because Going Out On The Weekend Is Overrated

When you don’t have a dog, but don’t always have Friday night plans, the weekend can be extremely dull. Weekend nights are perfect for catching up on grooming: sharpen those nail clippers, and bring out that new grooming brush. Or, play, practice new tricks, sit in for Netflix and cuddles. You always have plans when you have your own Doodle!

6. You Had Too Many Pairs Of Shoes Anyway

While most Labradoodles grow into very obedient, easy-to-care-for adults, baby Doodles are a handful. Their mischief of choice? Trying to see what non-food items they can snack on. You’ll quickly learn to put your shoes away as soon as you get home, or you’ll find them torn to shreds. Luckily, it doesn’t take long to make a habit of putting away anything your puppy can chew, and you can redirect them to chew on appropriate toys. They figure it out within a few months!

7. So You Can Learn Unexpected Life Lessons

While you may think you’re the one teaching your dog basic life skills such as sitting calmly, playing fetch and not eating poop, your pup has so much to teach you. A Labradoodle teaches you to love unconditionally and truly appreciate your loved ones, as they get excited every time you walk through the door, even if it’s only been a few hours. They teach you patience and forgiveness, because you’ll never stay mad at that fuzzy face.

8. Because Your Furniture Is Too Roomy

Everyone says the same thing the first day they bring their puppy home, “We’re not going to allow him on the bed/couch/furniture!” Some people can stick to this rule, especially if they have expensive, cream-colored furniture. The rest of us just can’t. A Doodle is a talented sulker, and loves nothing more than being close to their humans. Even if you think your bed is too small to share with your pup, you’ll manage to find enough space to be comfortable, somehow. That curly coat is extra cozy in the winter – and not too stuffy in the summer.

9. Because You’ll Always Have Interesting Stories To Tell

As a Labradoodle owner, you’ll become one of those annoying people that never stops talking about their dog. But that’s okay, because your Doodle will always keep things interesting. People will ask you to, once again, tell that story about the time your pup pooped in the shape of a heart, or that time they alerted you to a would-be burglar, or that time they ate your great-grandma’s antique gold chain and it was much shinier when they pooped it out. Yup… most of your interesting stories will probably involve poop!

10. Because They’ll Always Love You Right Back

The best part about falling in love with a Labradoodle is how you’ll always feel loved back. Everything you do for your pup – crafting fancy, healthy meals, buying new toys, going on fun adventures – they’ll appreciate it with all of their being. Most of all, they appreciate every moment they get to spend with you, their very favorite person in the whole wide world.

Our Chocolate Parti medium labradoodle is Sophie. She’s waay too smart! She likes to take her chewy bones and bury them in the dirty laundry basket or between the cushions in the sofa. But she always finds them! Very smart and soooo cute.
